This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.
This unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide CPR, in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.
Specific licensing/regulatory requirements relating to this competency, including requirements for refresher training should be obtained from the relevant national/state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authorities.
This course requires face-to-face training only to gain the practical, hands-on skills that you need.
We are flexible on where you would like to complete this course – we can travel to your site in Western Australia, or we have regular classes at our training facility in Belmont, Perth (Level 1, 190 Abernethy Road, Belmont, WA, 6104).
Course Outline
Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation course prepares you with the skills and knowledge required to respond in a life-threatening breathing and cardiac emergency. The course is aligned with the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines along with meeting the requirements of Safe Work Australia Code of Practice for First Aid.
This is competency based training. After successful completion of the programe you will be awarded a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment for HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
This course meets the requirements of Safe Work Australia Code of Practice for First Aid in the Workplace.
Wilson Medic One recommends that CPR training is renewed annually in line with Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines.
Students must be physically fit and capable to demonstrate 2 minutes of continuous CPR skills on the floor.
