This course is suitable for students who need the skills to manage a medical emergency before the arrival of an ambulance or medical response unit. It provides the skills and knowledge required to provide advanced first aid response, resuscitation techniques, and life support along with the management of casualty, the incident and other first aiders. This programme provides a set of skills to establish, maintain and facilitate the provision of appropriate first aid in a workplace environment and especially suitable to those who are the nominated first aid provider at their workplace.

It provides the skills and knowledge required to provide advanced first aid response, resuscitation techniques, and life support along with the management of casualty, the incident and other first aiders.

Course Information
The objectives of this competency based training is to provide students with the practical skills and knowledge to:
- Identify and responding to emergency situation
- Provide advanced first aid response
- Apply the latest CPR knowledge including oxygen resuscitation
- Coordinate first aid activities until arrival of medical assistance
- Communicating details of the incident
- Managing patient records
- Evaluate the provision of first aid in the workplace
- Offer wound care
Course Delivery
This course requires face-to-face training only to gain the practical, hands-on skills that you need.
We are flexible on where you would like to complete this course – we can travel to your site in Western Australia, or we have regular classes at our training facility in Belmont, Perth (Level 1, 190 Abernethy Road, Belmont, WA, 6104).

Entry Requirements
Applicants must have the level of language competence to be able to make an accurate verbal report to a supervisor and/or emergency response services.
Students must be physically fit and capable to demonstrate CPR skills on the floor.
Certification
Following the successful completion of the program a Statement of Attainment will be issued.
